~ Mahjong ~ A Fascinating Game with hours of endless and relaxing pleasure!!

Mahjong is an ancient game where you try to create matching tiles and achieve a winning hand. Ofcourse it involves skill, strategy and calculation, as well as certain amount of chance. I think Mahjong has an interesting history. Many people have been playing it for centuries and is available in many different versions and styles, which includes the traditional 4 Player version, Mahjong Solitaire and online Mahjong.

Mahjong is also called and written as Mah-jongg, Mahjongg, Mijang, Taipei, Morejongg, Mindjongg (Traditional Chinese: 麻將; Pinyin: májiàng) etc., a game for four players that originated in China. The aim of the game is to eliminate all pieces from the board. In Asia, Mahjong is also popularly played as a gambling game. You have to find matching pairs of images at the left and right ends of the lines at the various pyramid levels. After playing many games, I started developing a technique to play better games and eliminate more pieces from the board. Remember very important, the elimination of some pieces will open more possibilities than others. Believe it or not it’s part of the fun to develop the skill to "clean" the board game.

You need to match tile pairs until all of the tiles are gone. To be selectable in Mahjong, a tile must have a side edge free, and must have no other tiles on top of it. Some tiles, however, can be matched if they share similar themes, such as different flowers or the four seasons.

In Mahjong, you are given thirteen or sixteen tiles for a hand which also depends on the variation being played. You should draw a tile and discard one, when your turns comes up. Depending on the variation, the basic goal is to make four or five melds and a pair, or “head”. You can win this game "on the draw", by drawing a new or discarded tile which completes your hand. Thus a winning hand actually contains fourteen or seventeen tiles.

Some more ancient history of Mahjong and interesting tactics are coming up soon, Stay Tuned!!!
