As in my last article I had started the topic to observe your opponents play. The first important observations is the poker hand selection, when your opponent shows his cards, at the end of the poker game, go through them and make a note of which position the player played those particular hands from. If you are not able to see the cards, then just make a note of the frequency with which the poker hands are played from various positions.
There are around seven main points to remember in internet poker which you should be studying your opponents for :The first is hand selection, where you have to check what are the cards which your opponent shows. It's important to make note of what position they played these particular hands from. If you don't see what their cards are, note the frequency with which they play hands from various positions. So here you will find that remembering the poker hand rankings is very necessary. The second is aggression. Check out how aggressive is your opponent? How often are they raising and re-raising? The third are the calling tendencies, how often does your opponent call bets and what size bets are they calling? Check out for what type of poker hands are they calling with and what size bet they fold? The next is how does they react if a player raises or re-raises. How does the poker player react when they were the pre-flop aggressor and their opponent leads out into them or check raises them? Make sure to have a note on, what is their typical reaction to aggression against them? The fifth point is the pre-flop betting patterns - How much do they bet? Does it vary based upon position? Does it vary based upon the strength of their poker hand? How much and when do they re-raise? The sixth is the post-flop betting patterns - How much do they bet? Figure out when it varies? When do they raise? How do they play weak hands, strong poker hands and draws?
The final point is the blind defense, check out how often does your opponent call a raise out of their blind, how often do they re-raise a positional raise of their blind? When do they fold their blind when it is raised from late position or other positions? Is there a certain amount they will call no matter what? Is there a certain amount they will fold to unless they have a premium hand?
